Cost of Service Print

The cost of Total Registration's PSAT/NMSQT registration service is dependent on a few factors.  The cost is based on the number of registrations as follows:

  • $0.50 per registration if students are paying at school or if there is not a fee.
  • $1.50- $2.25 per registration if students pay for the exam fee online.  This cost includes the credit card processing charge.  The range is determined by your exam fee as the credit card processing fee is determined by the amount of the fee.  Here is an example:

A school covers the exam fee for sophomores and has all other grades pay a $15.50 exam fee.

  • 225 sophomores at $0.50 = $112.50
  • 252 juniors (pay with credit card) at $1.50 = $378.00
  • 21 juniors (pay at school with check or cash) at $0.50 = $11.50

Total Registration's total fee will be $502.00 to register all 471 students.  This fee includes all credit card transaction fees.  The school will only have to process fees for the 21 students that paid by cash or check.

The College Board allows schools to set the fee for the PSAT/NMSQT exam.  Many schools will set the fee in such a way to cover the cost of Total Registration's service.  Families are very happy to be able to pay online and not having to worry about payment being made at  school.
